The Speekee® Accelerate Programme: An OnLine Spanish course for kids!

Wowzers! Here it is folks…my concluding post about the Speekee Accelerate Programme. What a journey we have been on with this – it’s been ¡fantástico!

Speekee® Accelerate Review: Weeks 33 – 36

Weeks 33 & 34

This unit covers restaurants and is mainly about food and drink. We set up a restaurant and gave it a name. Then used the workseets for some role play. We used the following vocabulary:

¿Qué quieres para beber?” (What do you want to drink?)

“Gracias” (Thank you) replying with “De nada” (You are welcome).

Speekee® Accelerate Review: Weeks 27 – 32

Weeks 27 & 28

Audio files have now been added to the entire programme which is great as it gives additional listening practice to each video.

As a change to the previous videos, week 27 is a silent movie about being in a fairground. We discussed the different types of rides, which are our favourites and which go “rapidamente”, “arriba” and “abajo”.  We set up an obstacle course at home to practice the words “arriba” “abajo” in Spanish. 

Speekee® Accelerate Review: Weeks 11-14

Weeks 11 & 12 cover modes of transport, colours and comparing sizes. The worksheets in week 11 are great and easy for the children to get on with.  They include lots of repetition with nice clear instructions.

Speekee® Accelerate Review: Weeks 7-10

This post covers weeks 7-10 of the Speekee Accelerate programme. We did pretty well to keep momentum going what with Christmas and New Year, I think there was just one week where we didn’t do anything!  It is definitely important to do a little bit as often as possible with this so as to maintain your child’s interest, even if that means simply watching the videos every day.  

Review – Speekee® Accelerate: Spanish for kids

I am reviewing the Speekee® Accelerate Programme that was launched in November 2015.

Speekee is an Online Spanish resource designed for children that are Home Educated.  I subscribed to the Fastrack program designed for 4-7 year olds earlier this year and found it to be very useful in supporting our language learning journey at home.  The Accelerate programme is designed for students age 8+.
